COUNCIL MATTERS

PARISH COUNCIL NEWS
The Parish Council met on 26th November 2009. Among other matters dealt with were:

Land at the bottom of Lodge Lane
Agents for the owners had asked the Council to initiate a ‘housing needs survey’ in Wissett. The assumption being that planning permission would be sought for affordable housing on the Lodge Lane land. The Council decided not to initiate a survey. They decided to review the land offered for sale and negotiate on the basis of covenanting to sell back if the land bought ever became developable.

District Council Election Arrangements
The Parish Council agreed to support a proposal that all Waveney District Councillors retire every four years rather than a third every year as at present.

Planning Application for a holiday let dwelling at The Old Stables, The Street, to be used for full time occupation by an agricultural worker. The Council made no objection but will ask Waveney District Council to ensure the three year review takes place, and will say there should be no possibility of any other permanently occupied dwelling on the site.

Budget and Precept
The Council approved a budget for 2010/11 and fixed a precept of £1750
