PARISH COUNCIL NEWS

Parish Council Meeting – 27th March 2008

The Council met on 27th March and dealt with, among other things:

Public open space:
It was noted that the field at the bottom of Lodge Lane might be coming on the market. It was agreed to see if the field behind the churchyard might be available.

Vacancy on the Council:
Emma Flaxman, Len South, Nick Sumner and Kathleen Witherby had all volunteered to fill the vacancy on the Council. There was a ballot and Emma Flaxman will be co-opted on to the Council.

New notice boards:
County Councillor Wendy Mawer has been asked to provide £655 from her locality budget for replacement notice boards.—one on the Village Hall and two on the wall of Beck Cottage, opposite The Plough.

Street name sign:
A reply was still awaited from Waveney District Council; but since the meeting, a sign has now been put up in Buntings Lane.

Lay-by at Brickhill Cottages:
It was agreed to take up with Waveney District Council—who presumably would have to work with the County Council—the possibility of improving the appearance of the lay-by and perhaps increasing parking space
